Peace in the midst of turmoil
Love in an angry heart
Life and beauty in the city
If god were dead, would it matter?

I carry the divine within
as do you, and he and she
Life on planet Earth is just that
It matters to none but the living

The food I eat was once alive
The colors I paint I've seen before
Death awaits me in a little while
Peace in my heart is a gift from god

Mountains, over time, crumble to dust
I see that not, only the beauty
White clouds in a sky of blue
Sunlight and shade on the green trees
