It is a well-known secret
that people and trees like to talk
well known to most trees I've met
not known to most people

When I'm near my favorite kind of tree
I feel spiritually whole
I can bring my problems to the tree
and what I have to offer

I am given
guidance and comfort
the ability to let go
soothing words in my mind and feelings
and the truth

I give back
respect, unconditional acceptance
admiration at the tree's strong beauty
positive words in my mind and feelings
and for a moment, I am present
