Why does a man climb a mountain

so hot
so cold
so hard
so uncomfortable
so lonely
so crowded

good exercise
beautiful views
a feeling in the soul

rewarding
all that he is
he wins
beauty
undescribable joy
all the way to tears

because he is there
and so is the mountain

because the bird flies
the man must climb the mountain

I climbed this mountain
because this mountain
with all its challenges
is my friend
and called me to visit again
after so many years
since so many years

I am only one
there are so many mountains
each one is different
a different feeling
the feelings are mine
the mountains are not
