Loss of eternity

There is no eternity for me any more
just one day at a time
envy jealousy and gratitude

Every step brings me closer to the end
the simple fact is known
the details and the day are not

Losing what I never had, is always the best
the fight to keep what I have
can't hold a candle to letting go

Loving this life is not enought to keep it
hating is not enough to lose it
yet being is enough to live

Today, every day, is just one day
